**** Dusherra ****

Dear All

Today is Dusherra - popularly celebrated as Durga Pooja.

Ever since we became an independent nation, we always had a band of critics who keep reminding all of us that this had never been an unified country - politically and socially. But then, they will not have any answers to the culture of this vast land which had always tightened its grip on the entire population.

Known more for the nine days of Kolu (or Golu ?) in southern part of the country, this tenth of the day is celebrated at Calcutta in streets by public - while north recognizes this day as "Ram Leela". Of course, the way it is celebrated could be different and the associated mythological stories might be miles apart - still, the fact is that the SAME day is celebrated by the nameless people across the country.

This day carries another dimension as well which is well known in southern part of country. To start any new initiative, this is considered to be the best day of the year. Well, it could be a simple craving or wish of your heart OR lofty things like GOAL or AMBITION of your life.....Today is the day to get it started at first gear. 

What did I do today ?

Though I slept very late after the night shift, I was able to wake up fully alert at  6 AM and went to my favourite Natesan Park after quite a long break. (had some health issue that I stopped my usual walking at 10 AM......well, Thanks to Dusherra !). 

Also planning to get started on couple of trivial things from  today which I have been thinking about - for a long time. Do not want to tell those things as some people may find it absurd and stupid. Yes, what else you call ? A spade is always a spade.....!!

I wish the readers of AGANDAM a brand new beginning in "some thing" they aspire for .... crave for......starting from TODAY.
