Special Days

Hi All

I am sure that every one has observed that there are very few special days in his / her life. By special days I am magnanimous enough to mean both good and bad - to essentially denote those few days that are not normal.
(Now you are hell bent to argue with me about my adjective "special' in the title AND  why not substitute with "abnormal" or "one off" - I will go to the extend of changing it to "extra ordinary" ! howz' that !!....Lets not digress please)

Coming back to the point, I prefer that you get the title of this post straight and clear - both good and bad - before we move any further. After all we are here - in this world -  only to transcend  dualism isn't it .. ?

Now, once again getting back to the first line of the post, we can easily observe that such special days actually represent the extreme sides of a normal curve ("bell curve"). I am making too many assumptions here -  One lives in this world for a normal duration and encounters life and its entire cycle sufficiently to understand what I mean exactly.
The "bad" days of our life are quite minimal in the left side of the curve which perhaps - more or less - matches with the "good" / "great" days in the right side - leaving a huge mass of "normal" and "average" days in between these two extremes.

Watch out, though the total number of such special days are sort of balanced in the long run, the problem is in the unpredictability / lack of a clear patttern...huh...? Stay there with me...

Now, Are we not aware that there are some special "good" / "bad" days due to our own volition ?
I am going to request you TO COMPLETELY IGNORE the count of these two sub categories - which might lead to more subjectivity. After all I have enough gun powder to write a separate post on how our volitions are essentially destined & we have very little discretion about this grand design that we call life.

We are only going to look at those special days - I mean both "good" and "bad" the destined ones...and look at ourselves and how our mind responds to them.

I get a feeling that most of us - unfortunately -  have the intrinsic quality to absorb the "bad" days - particularly in our culture - since we are too much hooked to destiny factor. After a short spell, the average minds stares at reality, absorbs and get adjusted to the tragedies of our lives....Life Goes On....!!

On the contrary - the so called "good" days are our real danger since we might go of board letting ourselves too loose.

It appears to me that life is like getting forced into a "joy" (?) ride in a Giant Wheel with a bit of secrecy element on the location of the Centre and the wheel blessed with varying radius.

If only we sincerely start learning to handle a " good " day with enormous care and special attention and willing to learn from our own "gaps"  (Yep our "gaps" / "misses" that we consciously / unconsciously do even on such "good days" - then) perhaps, our bad days might not turning worse - whenever they are destined.
We get to a progressive mindset  and not blame too much on destiny and start taking "bad days" upon ourselves. Won't it be a significant shift in our attitudes ?

Sorry for lot of words....my bad !! - Remaining helplessly as  a verbose for more than two decades but just want to add one more sentence before I close.

I had a "good" day yesterday.....Krishnaarpanam...As always
