****** Daily Quotes *******

Dear All

Are you in the habit of sending "daily quotes" to your friends ? If the answer is no, let us compromise - as both you and me stand in the same side !

Are you getting any "daily quote" from some of your close acquaintance (friend or relative - it doesn't matter really when they are in touch with us daily, isn't it ?)

I do have a friend, a senior person working in a Bank who enlisted me - perhaps - 6 months back to his distribution list.

Being at night shift, it has become a habit for me to look at his "quote" (rather the "quote" of some famous person thru' him - again, both are same, isn't it ?) before even I brush my teeth or clear my bowels :-)

Few are really extra ordinary (thought provoking) , many enjoyable (some thing that we agree readily) while few others keep me amused and confused. Any way, I love the flutters it create in the brain cells at the beginning of my day.

Today's quote is from Chanakya - "Books are as useful to a stupid person as a mirror is useful to a blind person". Lovely one but I doubt many of such quotes really belonging to such wonderful people who lived on earth. For example, even I am capable of saying some "pearls" of wisdom but will you agree it is from a Saadharana Prajai "suchoo" who looks bit queer and is "thinking too much about himself" ? err ?

I just want to substitute a single word in the above quote to tarnish the one (reportedly) uttered by Chanakya.....!! Aadharaniya Chanakya Ji....its about LIFE not just BOOKS......

Period....

Have a great grand day with at least a moment to celebrate...if not, the whole of 24 hours keeping us fully dancing......!!

Love // Suren

  1. Dear Uncle, what are you trying to say?
Are you implying that for a stupid person, not only books but even life is useless...
    or
that life is more than just books and life is not useless to a stupid person merely because books are useless to him??

  2. Hi Lavan, First thing first, Call me as Suren :-).
You got it.....in the first part. I mean books, cinema, sports, hobbies, people are all subsets of life. Life is empty without these things, right ? (your second part makes me feel a philosopher is in the making......I mean, you are trying to think too much). I learnt it only recently - no point to think too much. Enlarging heart makes our lives worthy...... Love // Suren
