Prelude : When I heard the news few days back, I had a spontaneous craving to dish out this post but due to self imposed rule to touch the blog only during week ends, I held back myself. In a way, its good..... this posting is written with a enriched mind - which always happens to all of us if we wait and act instead of reacting to situations.

Perhaps you were amused at the long prelude above and wondering if it is appropriate and suitable to the topic of the post.....?
I am one of the die hard fan of Balu Mahendra, a Doyen of Modern Tamil Cinemas and even in my adoloscent age, i have felt innumerable times that his films (particularly dialogues) have an element of "poetic touch". Well, I could have not verbalized this those days when I saw "Moondraam Pirai", "Marubadiyum" , "Veedu" and couple of other good films of those days..
But more than a film watcher (that too not a seasoned critic) like me writing obituary, it always helps people to understand the value of this great Director when it is written by some one who had close connection with him. Yes, I mean the article in Ananda Vikatan (current issue) stands a testimony for two things - the genius of Balu Mahendra and secondly the affection outpoured by Bala - the famous director of current days.
This article appears to be extempore and he has literally cried his heart out....!! You should read it and then feel it. Honestly by continuing further to describe it too much, I will be committing a sacrilege both to Balu Senior and Bala, his junior.....
Long live Balu Mahendra's Glory; Long live Baala's virtues and cinemas....!!!
