Musings on HOUSE KEEPING

Preludes :::

(1) If some one is wondering how on earth I can keep musings on such simple things in which you are all accomplished specialists, lemme gently tell you I am a novice in most of the things.....Its a kid inside thats jumping at every single (new) experience

(2) I suddenly realize that I have a tendancy write few things in the prelude section instead of a post script due to my impatience... With the experiments (cross overs, fusions, abstractions) that I am planning to infuse in my future musings, you will sure survive this confusions...and live for 100 years....

Dear All

For the first time, I cleaned up one of the window of my house during last week. I chose the most difficult one - ie., kitchen's window which was most dusty and sticky - for my endevour...!! Would like to pen down my realizations which were more revealing today...than my debut during last week. Yeah, today, I cleaned up three more windows and since I know the job "better", I was able to do it with some philosphies running thru' my mind. Mind you, still I did a good job since I was so involved in this task.

(1) It is quite a natural thing to have dust and filth when we dont do much about it. There is no reason to cry hoarse about it when we get into an initiative.

(2) We should never deny ourselves (at least within ourselves) a proud look at the objects that we have got involved with.....Many talk about being ego-less and simple person, lets not give ourselves a credit which we deserve truely....Beware, let this not be too long....!! Just enough to energize ourselves and head towards the next dusty region.....!!

(3) One deciding to do a clean up should be very clear that he is doing it for himself. Neither an external trigger is needed to get started nor he should look for recognition....!! Its foolish to crave for others to follow us in terms of initiatives and could be disastrous if we try to verbally nudge them to get started "like us".....!!

(4) When we do a clean up, there is a possibility we are hurt. In this case of windows, I got couple of my fingers badly injured and even had drops of blood because of it. It never hurts....!! Just that I dont get this injury when I clean up next window.....!! Lets live with our injuries and pains which are basically self inflicted due to our own inexperience. Venting out might diulte our intensity levels....!!!

(5) One who decides to clean up should be very clear that he cannot clean up every thing. At the same time, he should also not get depressed about the % completion when he gets started....AND drop his initiative. As dust and stickiness and pollution are natural, cleaning up should be our natural processes. Lets face the filth with a smile in our face...

(6) We should be ready with the soft skills and hard skills for the continuity of the clean up process (its most needed today !!!) . Its important we identify the right type (and amount) of cloth and other infrastructures required (including the time factor and slot of activity) so that we dont have lame excuses to stop / postpone or shift to others shoulders....!!

(7) There are always better technologies of doing every thing. Lets keep our eyes and ears opened up for efficient people on the job and try to upgrade ourselves in every possible opportunity. Process improvemement is maximum possible in this area.....(if only Neel Metal Fanacia knew this truth, they would not have been in checkout mode...particularly when their predecessor, ONYX made such a great job in their tenure !!)

(8) The mission for a person of House keeping should include a dream situation of seeing a cleaned up world.....!! it might be possible after 10 generations if we dutifully clean up the one window in front of our eyes....!! Lets not even share it with others...JUST DO IT....!!

(9) Well, let me candidly admit the fact that the joy that these 4 windows gave me in those few minutes of my union with them, I felt ashamed of the fact that I never even thought to do it all these days...

Perhaps I could have started off such simple tasks bit earlier too..but I also carry a feeling that I might be doing such house keeping tasks monotonously by now If I had started such things very early in my life...!!

So in my typical style, I dont have a regret about any thing that happened to me in the past OR the way I have handled things in the past Rather the way I had handled myself in the past.....as the future is too exciting and grand truths are waiting to be revealed to me on their own...!!! Lemme try my hand in cloth washing, vehicle cleaning, toilet cleaning....etc., etc., !!!!

Suren

  1. Hey... congratulations on planning to get involved in "things" around you (not just "people"). But, I keep wondering on why you make such 'simple' things look sooooo big. Having said that, I also have to accept that I liked your points (1) & (3).
