Aadhar Card - ADDENDUM

Dear All

It was tiring time (5 to 8 PM) at the ward office yesterday to get the process completed.

We at last got it done after losing our patience a dozen times - getting completely exhausted and frustated (but helpless!!) - seeing the efficiency of the staff at the Ward Office -  but then I also realize that we need tons of patience in democratic form of Government....

Well, few clarifications which could be relevant; Mind you I learnt these facts only yesterday from the guy at the office who carried out the registration process.

1. The card that we got yesterday is NOT AADHAR card at all !! it is actually called as NPR card which is MANDATORY for all of us for getting direct subsidies from Government. 

Though it is getting issued only within city limits of chennai now, this process is bound to be rolled out to sub urban areas shortly. (Kabarthaar !!)

2. The card issued earlier is some thing that we can keep for our own satisfaction if we want :-) (I am just quoting). 

To pacify the people who got irritated about the new announcement (on NPR card), the Government has suggested on this but has also clarified that Aadhaar card issued earlier can only act as an additional proof of identification and there will not be practically any purpose and NOT MEANT to give us any other tangible benefits.

3. There was an article in Ananda vikatan by a lawyer (??) based at Bangalore who was critical about humiliation to the citizens who undergo the process of card issue.
He had lamented that people are treated like criminals as our finger prints and eye balls are scanned and recorded in the Government Records as though we are criminals.....!!
(yeah I mean "eye" balls....please don't misread as "balls" and get to wrong conclusions; He he he !!!) 

I understand that the need for Aadhaar card got arisen in Northeastern states of India where there is a huge problem of infiltration from Bangladesh and so such steps were decided for authenticity verification. (those states are fully covered already). 

Now when the same process is rolled out to rest of the country, they are following the same process (standardization) and I personally feel that the article in AV is not really justified.....

4. Last but not least, please be aware that NPR card (whenever it is getting issued to other localities too) is MANDATORY and AFTER getting the card, we have to update the reference number at our Bank where we intend to operate our financial transactions to get the subsidies from Government.

post script:- I was smiling at myself when I started off writing this post. I had always been particular to write only for my personal expressions (sharing pearls of wisdom I acquired / newly acquired) and keep away from any general subjects - particularly political and practical matters - out of AGANDAM. There are already enough of such blogs which seem to focus on generic subjects like social causes, contemporary news etc.,

This particular post is quite unique as it is an aberration from my original vision about the scope of AGANDAM. But then, considering the rich experience of knowledge on these card issues, I had a strong urge to write "addendum" to the original post on the subject.

Lets close on this topic....!! I will revert back to my original scope in future - I swear :-)

"Aadhaar" Card

Dear All

If you live within chennai city limits and if you are yet to get your Aadhaar card, this post is exclusively for you.....!!

I am not sure if you were smart enough to get the card thru' the authorized private agencies couple of years back (even I got it you know......!!). Due to some unknown wanton reason, Government of India has decided to issue the card thru the state machinery itself and has declared the earlier cards as invalid.

Having got the cards earlier -  at our home - we were quite proud all these days and learnt this latest update quite recently and got bit frustrated....Life has to go on, right....? 

Mustering some more patience and energy I ventured into this expedition of getting the new card and today I got a major break thru'. 

YES, I have a "token" issued by Government now which enables me and my family to get the Aadhar card tomorrow without any further delay. Believe me, I reached my ward corporation office at 4.30 AM sharp and my token number is 50 which means that there were 49 early risers at least for today in my ward :-)

Since the capacity of this office is to handle 30 tokens per day, while the token got issued, I got a clear instruction to reach only tomorrow for the card issue process - along with the family. Guru peyarchi seems to work in strange ways too, huh ???

Well - inspite of all oddities and frustrations, I have always been too empathatic to our Government machinery and the people who work there...(yes.....no arguments please....after all, this is MY blog). 

The problems of over population (and with our the percentage of literacy of our fellow Indians) are really complex and it is quite an easier act to criticize the human beings who work for government. 

They have their own venting needs too !!

Now, coming back to my today's story, as my turn came to get the token, some thing interesting happened. 

A man who walked from the tail end of the queue reached out closer to the staff issuing token and was shouting at him. He in fact started raising some irrelevant questions which cannot be handled by the puny poor guy at the office who has reached office at 6 AM for this token issue process. 

(I am not sure if this poor chap is in the rolls of the Corporation; could be a sort of additional helping hand who gets daily wages).

At a point of time, this gentle man (who travelled from behind, I mean)  started ringing some body thru'  his mobile and started assuring all of us in a dignified voice that he is organizing Mayor to reach shortly and appealed to all of us to be patient. 

The token issue boy was meekly (rather sleepily) trying to explain on his point about the process of token issue but our hero was not the one to budge !!!!

Since it was my turn after all, I had to politely intervene and patiently explained our hero the process that they are following as I had a full idea when I visited the corporation office last week to get details. 

Now, this man got wild at me and started imagining that I am anti people (rather pro government ?). 

He roared at me telling that he is only fighting for me and my fellow comrades......!! 

I had to clarify that there is really no need for it as they have evolved some process and it is important that we cooperate with their way of working if we need to get things done. 

Then he fired at me telling that he is fighting for the people who are last in the queue and curtly asked me to leave after getting my token.

In fact that was exactly my point too....!! 

I smiled at him looking into his eyes and told him that he needs to help me to get my token having reached at 4.30 AM ahead of the hundred people behind me - if he respects democracy. 

(To be candid, I was in a good frame of mind today and was trying not to get harsh with this gentleman who had lost his control already).

Taken aback by my response, his eyes turned really red. 

To his specific question, I clearly told him that I do not have any intention to have a look at the Mayor and pleaded with him to allow the queue to get operational without wasting every body's time. 

(With his decibel level, he was actually drawing lot of people from the queue and the situation was getting out of control).

As I got my token and I walked towards my two wheeler, the only thing I was able to do was to pacify the people in queue to be patient and wait for their turn. 

I have lot of regards and affection to the Father of our Nation but still, I am fully with Netaji's view that our democracy needs to get delayed a little bit till the time people get ready for it. 

Some times, the philosopher within me wakes up in such situations where I feel such pseudo leadership confuses and collapses the already feeble system.....!!!

I am really unsure if before the end of my life, we will start seeing a real "developed" India....but extremely determined not to offer my share of confusion to the maze of things around me. 

Thamasomaa jyothirgamaya....as our scripture says...... 

Let us keep moving from darkness to light always.......and in our every wakeful moment.

சொல்ல மறந்த கதை - 6 :: முரண்மொழிகள்

அன்புடையீர்

பழமொழிகள் (அ) முதுமொழிகள் பற்றி கேள்விப்பட்டு இருப்பீர்கள். 

சற்று நேரமும் வாய்ப்பும் கொடுக்கப்பட்டால் குறைந்த பட்சம் ஒரு இருபது பழமொழிகளாவது (குறைந்த பட்சம்) நம் ஒவ்வொருவருக்கும் தெரிந்து இருக்கும். சரி தானே .....?

என் அம்மாவின் மூலம் நான் பல்வேறு பழமொழிகளின் அழகையும் அவற்றின்  உண்மையையும் பல முறை உணர்ந்து வியந்து இருக்கிறேன். என் தாய் வழிப்பாட்டி கிட்டத்தட்ட ஆயிரம் பழமொழிகளை அனாயசமாக பிரயோகம் செய்யும் அளவு வல்லவராம். அவர் சொல்ல சொல்ல கேட்டு எழுதிக் கொள்ளாமல் விட்டு விட்டேனே என்று அடிக்கடி என் அம்மா வருத்தப்படுவது வழக்கம்....என்ன செய்வது.....?? பெரும்பாலும் இருக்கும் வரை நமக்கு அவற்றின் அருமை முழுவதும் தெரிவது இல்லை...... 

இவற்றிற்கு போட்டியாக தற்போதைய இளைய சமுதாயம் நகைச்சுவை ததும்பும் சில புது மொழிகளும் சில சமயம் இரசிக்கும் வகையில் தான் இருக்கிறது. 

சொல்லும் விதமும் வார்த்தைகளும் மாறினாலும் ஒரு "idea" கட்டு செட்டாக வார்தைக் கோர்ப்பாக சரியான நேரத்தில் பிரயோகிக்கப் படுவது இரசிக்கப்பட வேண்டிய ஒன்று......!!

இந்த பதிவு "முரண்" மொழிகளைப் பற்றி.......!! 

ஆம்... பழமொழியோ புது மொழியோ சில சமயம் முரண்பாடான கருத்தாலும் பல சமயம் தவறாக தோன்றும் வார்த்தை பிரயோகத்தாலும் நம்மை சில கணங்கள் சிந்திக்க வைத்து ஒரு கல்வியாக திகழும் தருணங்களுக்கு வேறெந்த வார்த்தை கொடுப்பது என்று எனக்கு தெரியவில்லை.

சுமார் ஒரு மாதத்துக்கு முன் பூங்காவில் எழுதியிருந்த வாசகம் "பணம் அதிகமாக இருந்தால் உன்னை உனக்கு தெரியாது......பணம் குறைவாக இருந்தால் உன்னை யாருக்குமே தெரியாது". 

இதைப் படித்த நான் இருபது வருடம் பின்னோக்கி இழுக்கப்பட்டேன். ஆம்....இதே வாசகத்தை கல்லூரிப் பருவத்தில் எங்கோ படித்து விட்டு ஏதோ தவறு இருக்கிறதே என்று குழம்பி என் நண்பி ஒருத்தியிடம்  (என் வாழ்க்கையில் எனக்கு இருந்த ஒரே பெண் நண்பி அவள்தான்.....அற்புதமான தோழமை....இப்போது தொடர்பில் இல்லை...) அது பற்றி நான் பேச, அவள் சட்டென்று அதில் இருந்த தவற்றை சுட்டிக்காட்டினாள். 

ஆம்....முன் பின் முரணான வாசகங்கள்.....எது எல்லாருக்கும் தெரியுமோ  அதை முதலில் சொல்லி விட்டு அதற்கு பின்னர் ஒரு வித்தியாசமான அல்லது புதிய கருத்து இருந்தால் அழுத்தமாக இருந்து இருக்கும்.....(மீண்டும் அந்த வாசகத்தைப் படித்து பாருங்கள்.....அது சரி என்றே உங்களுக்கும் தோன்றும்).

சரி தவறு என்பதை விட, நம்மை இது பற்றி சில நிமிடங்கள் சிந்திக்க வைக்கும் இது போன்ற வாசகங்கள் "முரண் மொழிகள்" என்று நான் குறிப்பிடுவது சரி தானே ? 

சிறிது  நாள் பிறகு அதே பூங்கா பலகையில் மற்றொரு வாசகம்..... "இரவு தூங்க போகும்போது பட்டினியாக இருந்தாலும் பரவாயில்லை. காலை படுக்கையை விட்டு  எழுந்து இருக்கும் பொழுது  கடனாளியாக இருந்து விடாதே ". படித்த அடுத்த கணம், அதில் இருந்த முரண் என்னை பலமாகத் தாக்கியது....

ஆம்.....!! இரவு பட்டினி கிடந்தது தூக்கம் வராமல் படுக்கையில் புரண்டு களைப்புடன் சோர்வாக காலை கண் விழிப்பதை விட, கடன் வாங்கி நன்று இரவு உணவு சாப்பிட்டு காலை உற்சாகமாக எழுந்து நன்றாக உழைத்து கடனை அடைப்பது..... எனக்கு சரியான செயலாக தோன்றுகிறது.....!!

என்ன சொல்கிறீர்கள் ? சரி....நான் போய் இப்போது நன்றாக தூங்கப் போகிறேன்.....!! கடன் அதிகம் இல்லாமல் இரவு உணவை முடிக்குமாறு வாழ்வை அளித்த அந்த இறை சக்திக்கு பணிவான வணக்கத்தை தவிர நாம் என்ன அளித்து விட முடியும்......??

மீண்டும் ஏறத்தாழ ஒரு மாத இடைவெளி......ஹ்ம்ம்.......!!

எழுதப்போகும் சங்கதியாவது ஒரு புதிய படம் பற்றி என்றால் பரவாயில்லை....அதுவும் சற்றே பழைய ஒரு படம் பற்றித்தான் !

என்ன செய்வது - விதி எப்போதுமே வலியதுதான்......!!

குறிப்பாக நமது மகிழ்ச்சிகளையும் நெகிழ்ச்சிகளையும் பகிர்ந்து கொள்வதை விட வலிகளையும் வேதனைகளையும் வெளியே கொட்டுவது இதயத்துக்கு நல்லது - இல்லையா ? 

ஒரு வேளை இந்த படம் உங்களை positive ஆக பாதித்து இருந்தால், இந்த பதிவு உங்களுக்கு மன சஞ்சலத்தை கொடுத்தால்......அதுவும் ஊழ்வினைதான்.....!! 

அகண்டத்தில் எப்போதுமே ஆயிரம் கருத்துக்கள் தான்....அனைத்தும் ஒன்றாகவே மனமொத்த இருப்பது இயற்கையின் காரியம் அல்லவே ? 

நான் சமீபத்தில் பார்க்க நேர்ந்த (வெகுவாக) கொண்டாடப்பட்ட ஒரு திரைக்காவியம்....

காவியம் போன்ற பெயரும் கூட....."வாரணம் ஆயிரம்". 

ஆங்கிலத்தில் "rage " என்று ஒரு வன்மையான வார்த்தை உண்டு. இந்த படத்தை இரண்டு மூன்று முறை தடங்கல்களுடன் சுமார் இருபது நாட்காலத்தில் ஒரு வழியாக பார்த்து முடித்ததும் எனக்கு ஏற்பட்டது இந்த ஆங்கில வார்த்தை குறிப்பிடும் ஒரு கொலைவெறி தான்.....!!

இதை இயக்கிய புண்ணியவான் கௌதம் மேனனால் ஏற்கனவே நான் பாதிக்கப்பட்டு இருந்தாலும், (அதைப்பற்றி பின்னால் குறிப்பிடுகிறேன்) கவித்துமான இந்த தலைப்பு காரணமாகவும் இந்த படம் வாங்கிய நல்ல பெயர் பற்றியும் ஒரு ஆர்வம் இருந்ததால் இந்த படத்தை பார்க்க துணிந்தேன்......!! நல்ல வேளையாக,ஒரே நேரத்தில் முழுதும் பார்க்குமாறு சூழ்நிலை வாய்க்கப்பெறவில்லை......அப்படி நேர்ந்து இருந்தால் அகண்டம் (இந்த பதிவால்) என் வார்த்தைகளால் மேலும் மாசு பட்டு இருக்கும்.

மிகவும் வித்தியாசமான அப்பா ரோலில் சூர்யா....அசப்பில் ரகுவரன் ஜாடையோ என்று சந்தேகப்பட்டு பின்னர் தொலைகாட்சி நடிகர் வேணு அர்விந்த் சாயல் அதிகம் என்று உணர்ந்தேன்......( அவரையே நடிக்க வைத்து இருக்கலாமோ ? ). வாழும் காலத்தில் இருக்கும் மற்றொரு  நடிகரை இது போல் imitate செய்வது தெரிந்தே செய்யப்பட்டதா என்று சரியாக புரியவில்லை.

இடது கை பழக்கமும் மிகவும் புரட்சிகரமான கருத்துகளும் கொண்ட ஒரு முன் மாதிரி தகப்பன். கௌதம் மேனனின் தகப்பனாருக்கு அஞ்சலி கடைசியில் போடும் பொழுது......நமக்கு கௌதம் படங்கள் எல்லாம் ஏன் இவ்வளவு புரட்சிகரமாக இருக்கிறது என்று சட்டென்று விளங்கி விடுகிறது. விதை  ஒன்று போட்டால் சுரை ஒன்று முளைக்குமா என்ன ?

ரூம் போட்டு யோசித்து,  (அதிகம்) முடியில்லாத) இயக்குனரின் தலையை கசக்கி அவர் காவியம் படைக்க முயன்றாலும்  அவர் சாயம் பல இடங்களில் வெளுத்து விடுகிறது.

முதல் சீன் முடி வெட்டிக்கொண்டு அப்பா சூர்யா தளர்ந்த நடையில் வீட்டுக்கு வர, அவர் மனைவி அவர் தலை ட்ரிம் ஆக இருப்பது பற்றி பூரித்து போய் ஆங்கிலத்தில் வாழ்த்துகிறார். திராவிட வாதத்தை குதறி எடுக்கும் வகையில் அவசியமற்ற இடங்களில் ஆங்கிலத்தில் (அதுவும்  அவ்வளவு செயற்கையாகவா ?) அனைவரும் பேசி ரொம்பவே வெறுப்பு அடிக்கிறார்கள். ஒரு வகையில் அகண்டத்துக்கு இந்த சமன்பாடு தேவைதானோ என்று நானே தீவிரமாக யோசிக்க ஆரம்பித்து விட்டு தலையை உதறிக்கொண்டு சமநிலை அடைந்தேன் என்றால் பாருங்களேன்......!!

தான் தன் கல்லூரி பருவத்தில் தன்  மனைவி மேல் கொண்டது காதல் அல்ல, காமம் (lust ) என்று தன மகன் மற்றும் நண்பர்கள் முன்னால் ஒத்துக்கொண்டு வெடித்துச் சிரிக்கிறார் தகப்பன் சூர்யா.....பேஷ் !!!!
மற்றொரு சீன்-ல் தன மனைவியின் தலைகாணியில் ஒடுங்கிக்கொண்டு - தனக்காக தலையணை தரும் மகனிடம் "எப்போதுமே இப்படித்தான்" என்று இயல்பாக (ரொம்பவும் செயற்கையாக) சொல்கிறார்.
தான் பெற்ற மக்களுக்கு ஏதாவது செய்முறை விளக்கம் தந்து விடுவாரோ என்று திகில் அவ்வப்போது நமக்கெல்லாம் ஏற்பட்டு விடுகிறது. 

பள்ளிப் பிராயத்தில் சீனியர் மாணவனிடம் அடி வாங்கி வந்த மகனை கொம்பு சீவி பதிலுக்கு அவனை அடிக்க அனுப்புகிறார்.( ஒரு வேளை மகன் ரத்தம் சொட்ட மீண்டும் அடி வாங்கிக் கொண்டு வந்தால் இடது கையால்  ஸ்டைல் ஆக ஆம்புலன்சுக்கு  போன் செய்வாரோ ?)  

மகனை "அமெரிக்கா இங்க இருக்கு" என்று கையால் முழம் போட்டு அனுப்பும் அப்பா, மகன் தன காதலியை கண்டு பிடித்து விட்டான் என்று உற்சாகப்படும் தந்தை, மகன் வெகு இயல்பாக காதலியின் அறையிலேயே தங்கி இருப்பதாக சொல்லவும், பதட்டத்துடன் தொலைபேசியை மனைவியிடம் "living together " என்று குறிப்புடன் கொடுத்து விடுகிறார். 

தான் வளர்த்த இலட்சணம் பற்றி அவமானப்பட்டாரோ இல்லையோ - நமக்கு குறிப்பு ஏதும் படத்தில் இல்லை.....

போற்றி வளர்த்த பிள்ளை போதை மருந்துக்கு அடிமையாவதைப் பார்க்கும் பொழுது "நல்லா வேணும்" என்று நானே மகிழ்ந்து பின்னர் சில கணங்கள் என் உணர்வுக்காக வருத்தமும் பட்டேன்.....

இவ்வளவு  செயற்கையாக சிம்ரன் இது வரை நடித்ததே இல்லை என்று துணிந்து சொல்லலாம்.

காமம் சொட்டும் அந்த (நல்ல வேளை !!) இறந்து தொலைக்கும் கதாநாயகி நமது அற்புதமான இயக்குனரை கவர்ந்து இருப்பார் ..... நிச்சயமாக......!!
(இதே இயக்குனரின் ஒரு கீழ்த்தரமான அடுத்த படத்தில் - நடுநிசி நாய்கள் - நடித்தவரும் இவரே தான்.....புரட்சி உள்ளங்கள்  புரட்சிகரமான மற்றவர்களுடன் தானே இணையும்.....?)

சூர்யா அதிகப்படியாக உழைத்த படம் இதுவாகத்தான் இருக்கும் என்று நினைக்கிறேன்.....பாவமாய் இருந்தது.....!!

கவித்துமாய் படங்களுக்கு பெயர் வைக்கும் இந்த இயக்குனர் தனது இந்த காவியத்துக்கு பெயர் காரணம் பற்றி ஒரு ஆர்வம் கடைசி வரை இருந்தது.....

சிம்ரன் வாயால் கடைசி வசனமாக ஆழ்வார் பாசுரம் சொல்லப்பட்டு என் மனம் சாந்தியடைந்தது......(நல்ல வேளை .... முதல் வருஷாப்திகம் வரை படம் காட்டப்படவில்லை......)

வாரணம் ஆயிரம் ?? அபத்தங்கள்  பல்லாயிரம்......!!

சுமார் இரண்டு வருடங்களுக்கு முன்பு இதே போன்ற ஒரு மன நிலையில் "விண்ணைத் தாண்டி வருவாயா" என்ற இந்த மேதகு இயக்குனரின் மற்றொரு காவியத்தை ஆங்கிலத்தில் இந்த அகண்டத்திலேயே விளாசி இருந்தேன்......!! ஒரு மாறுதலுக்காக இம்முறை தமிழை தேர்ந்தெடுக்கலாம் என்று பட்டது......

அவரின் சமீபத்திய படைப்பான "நீதானே என் பொன் வசந்தம்" இன்னமும் பார்க்கவில்லை. மலையாளம் கற்றுக்கொண்டு நன்று தேர்ந்த பின்னர் அதையும் பார்த்து விடுவோம் என்று ஒரு தீர்மானம்......!!
