The Match Maker.....!!

Today is special not just for me but for the whole of our family.
Again, Family by itself is a subjective word - I just don't mean the first circle family but also to an extend of bigger circle...!!

Yeah, Today afternoon there is going to be a marriage fixed up in our family - the discussion on exact date & formalization is what the entire family is excitedly looking forward to....!!
My niece is getting married to a First cousin of our family.....!!

Its sort of a not so recent tamil film (Poovellaam Un Vaasam) of Ajith where its an arranged marriage decided with a quirk thought ending up (rather getting started up) to this new relationship.....!!

I have wondered & felt aghast quite a number of times on the dividing line between Vegetarianism / Non vegetarianism..... Love Marriages / Arranged Marriages...... AND Free will / Destiny.....!!

(Unconsciously I am starting only with my pet subject of EATING...you see...thats destiny !!!)

When people say proudly that theirs' is a love marriage, I wonder what they really mean by it ? Is it that they chose this man / woman from the entire choice available in the eternity...??

Its just that they developed an interest with some one who is arranged - by Divinity - to get into a marital relationship !!

OK OK, it was not the parents who took a call but them but actually there is little difference as any way things get forgotten / tramped upon by later part of details of LIFE.....!!

The marriages, the houses, the employments - and every little damn details of our petty lives are all organized by divine will in a queer logic which never gets unveiled to us in one shot.....!!

Some times every little change that happens in our lives (again it happens or we choose to make it happen - it does not make a difference really) is some thing only to get changed after some time.

While I am a part of the jubilant home, I should candidly admit that there is an inner voice which gently tells me to make out this new thing at the family as an opportunity to observe more and learn more about life and its design....!!

As I bless the would be couples to have the best of every thing, I also bow down reverentially in front of the huge all pervading LORD, the eternal match maker - who is oozing himself in every single transaction...(Paraththai maraiththathu paarmudhal bootham...).

Bull's EYE

During the whole of 2011, I did not read a copy of Frozen Thoughts....!! Being a regular buyer of this magazine for couple of years, I should say I had no reason to avoid it completely. Perhaps since its kind of a magazine that is not contemporary / current, I don't feel much bad about it - you can start reading it any time - either it is an old issue or a brand new one. Its all the same in terms of impact - rather, inspiration.....!!

TTR has increased the price to Rs.100/- a copy (from earlier Rs.80) and his image in the Jan 2012 issue captured my eyes from the news stand - perhaps for the first time he is getting flashed on the covers but it was a good photo with him standing on top of world (Globe), eyes closed AND with outstretched arms. It was as if he is inviting us to have a hug with him if we are ok for the price hike AND the slightly altered looks of the magazine.....!!

Without having any great reason, I missed to buy the Jan issue but made it a point to buy Feb issue - a nice saffron color cover which was mesmerizing......!!

As usual in the Boomerang Column (readers' feed backs), there were lot of diverse views about the change of the magazine - I read all of them nonchalantly. I am yet to go thru' all the other articles but just couple of the articles ("Voice of Ra" instead of "Voice of Love"....Huh ?? Of course Ra symbolizes love - if you had a glimpse of how he gives himself completely when he hugs his fans / admirers at the end of his lectures) but they were sufficient to provoke / induce me to write this post.

The Voice of Ra  was too good and I faintly remember that he has written this piece in one of his earlier issues - perhaps as an answer to a question - but then Golden words can always be repeated if its going to serve some purpose, right ?? To be candid, this unveiled me an important learning when I read it today than my earlier attempt - that is the beauty of our learning process / wisdom;
Its so subjective, so conditional and so unique......!!

As I read thru' the last para of the article, I suddenly realized that my passion on Teaching has all the six elements that he is talking about !!( 1.Certainty and Uncertainty. 2. Individuality and Connected-ness. 3. Having and Giving ) ......For those who are nursing a career passion on any field, perhaps this is the same truth but it dawned upon me quite like a thunderbolt on why I have been dreaming about an early retirement and take a violent plunge into what I am supposed to do.....!!

Though I have not stopped writing my long-ish sentences, I have developed a love for the simple and straight sentences of Ra (as he would like himself to be addressed) which gives the meaning of words in most precise and concise manner.

To couple with this nice article, I randomly ended up in two more articles which talked about a teacher's influence (article by a passionate teacher) and the last page article which speaks about student's attitude towards the teacher.......!! You call it fluke and coincidence but I consider it as a Baba Magic only.....!!

Mundane Matters - 4 :: "Magnanimously Yours"

Dear All

I don't know if my earlier post in Tamil "Kosuru" bewildered you....
But I feel that it is one virtue that needs one more stamping from me in this vast agandam because because ... it just deserves it most than any thing else. Lemme continue the same topic in English.

Well, There are Oldies who whine and whimper about Kali Yugam...and keep sobbing about those great days bygone. It is my personal feeling that excepting for reduction of people's innocence (ignorance is bliss, right ?) in no sense our today is different from those days. In fact, as the borders between countries got shrunk with advanced means of transportation and the younger generation gets to know different cultures and attitudes, they are getting more broad minded - to be precise, more magnanimous....!!

As an off shoot of technology and innovative thoughts, Violence and Atrocities are too much today - no doubt - but was there not cruelty demonstrated in ancient times ? I strongly doubt !! In fact so much is getting talked about only today about how cruel is capital punishment. You never had a chance of even thinking about "sirachedham" and "kazhu" during Dynastic rules, right ??

Well, as a common man,I sincerely feel that the only thing we can consistently do to make this planet wonderful is by being bit more magnanimous AND capable of appreciating this virtue. The wrinkled hand of the old lady at Tambaram Railway station (reference to my KOSURU posting) is symbolic for the positive aspects of today's life. Regardless of people's current realities and complaints, it is amazing to see this type of positive demonstration on GIVING and SHARING.

Should we be always a TAKER ?

There are enough opportunities for every one of us to be a GIVER - and we don't have to chase ourselves to Tsumani affected area - For that matter, after 2004 it never recurred.....perhaps telling us to do right things without such reminders....

By not entertaining into unnecessary arguments with Auto Driver out of sheer habit, by being slightly more graceful to the Waiters - not just while tipping them but also to meet their eyes when we give them our "order", by being bit easy at hot headed souls - I feel we are all enriching Mother Earth with manure called magnanimity.

I carry no doubts about a brighter future if only we allow the simplest virtues not just to hit our eyeballs but also to flow thru' us...

Krishnaarpanam - As always..
