Human "Beings" !!

Dear All

It is always amusing to look around, identify and admire interesting people around us.

In fact I have always found it interesting to invest time and curiosity on people than the technological little things that we have. I am not talking in terms of getting "connected" with people and "using" them in practical sense ; you really don't have to become a friend to admire any body and I am just talking about getting benefited from people in best possible manner.

In last week Ananda Vikatan, there was a mind boggling article about a gentle man who has specialized on some subject out of his passion and self initiative - Traffic Management in Chennai.

He is a man from humble background and had been a volunteer for the Traffic Police team for quite a long time - but, instead of considering it just a hobby / service, he seems to have gone several steps ahead investing lot of his personal time. He has taken time to travel to various part of city, observe the traffic flows, discover the unwanted signals, identify the strategic locations where signal is required badly - in short, he has evolved a blue print for our traffic woes. In fact, he claims with lot of conviction that he can take over any traffic congestion of the city and bring it to normalcy within an hour - if he is given charge !!

I am unsure how much of his claims / ideas are practical but one thing is sure - if such people are included in the decision making processes, there could be a lot more effectiveness for the people who govern the country. Happy to see him getting some limelight by ANANDA VIKATAN.

More than reading thru' magazines, there are too many interesting human "beings" (lemme explain the " " some time later please) who have enticed me and made me philosophical about life and its purpose. I am going to write a series of few of them - who are etched in the top of my memory - during this month (May 11). I hope you find it interesting....

Freedom from the Known !!

Prelude :- This is the title of a book written by Indian philosopher - J.Krishnamurti; In a way, the gist of his entire life teaching is contained in this title...!! For some one like me - who is incessantly involved in connecting things AND learning any thing new only from connection of the old known things...... hmmm... JK's philosophy can never be comprehended during this life time....!! Dear All Haven't you heard that there are seven people who look alike in every respect ?? There are few of my resemblance discoveries which I can never publicise much (like how much thrilled I found Osama Bin Laden resembling Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev) but still just wanted to share few with you guys....!! The below collection is some thing that I got reminded from the two glamorous industries of our country - Cinema and Cricket.....Here you go......!! I am sure you will be doubly delighted and readily agree with the resemblances when you see the below two sets of photographs...... Chimbu - Virat Yuvi - Ravi I was bit shocked to see one of my recent discoveries (below) getting posted in a news paper yesterday - and in fact I got triggered to make this post before all my other "pain staking" discoveries are publicised by others (He he....) Yes, its Santhan-Gambhir. The paradox is that Gautham is always tensed up and sweating in the cricket ground though Santhanam is a comedian (though I don't find much humour coming from his "rubber purse" mouth) Now, comrades - lets move to some thing subtler....!! Ajith-Ganguly Dravid - Maddy Whether you will readily agree with me or not, I find the above two pairs the same degree of resemblance of the first three; I got it vetted with couple of well wishers (or people who were willing to readily sympathise with me and my child like enthusiasm - what ever way it is....) but then.....you have to hold your breath for the next one......!! Arya - Munaf A simple connection of cat eyes was sufficient for me to relate the above two. If it is too difficult for you to digest Arya's muscular body with the lean Munaf Patel, you can convince yourself with the looks of Arya during NAAN KADAVUL project when he became thin and shed lot of weight......!! Beware, the next one could be lot more wierd.....!! Yes, I just cannot forget the enthusiastic and bubbling Ajay Jadeja who always brought lot of optimism and youth-full ness to the Indian team few years back. Well, Few of Jothika's mannerisms (which she repeats in almost all her films) reminds me of this man - physically the "plumb" factor too connects them in a big way...... You might have to agree with me on the wisdom that enjoying the "resemblance" factor is much beyond one's sex and facial features alone.......!! Here's the last.........I got these Sachin's (rare) photos quite recently where perhaps he is involved in a house warming ceremony {perhaps he keeps buying bungalows every week end with as much ease we go and get our vegetables on weekly basis}. By co-incidence, I found in our C drive some of my own (he he...enakku vekkamaa irukku) photos in the house warming ceremony of the only house that I have (courtesy ICICI Bank)..... Podhumaa ?? தேர்தல் திருவிழா

இரத்தத்தின் ரத்தம் போன்ற உடன்பிறப்புகளே !! இன்னும் மூன்று நாட்களில் தமிழகத்தின் தலை விதி மீண்டும் ஒரு முறை நிரூபனப் பட இருக்கிறது - கொதிக்கும் எண்ணெய் கொப்பரைக்கும் திகு திகுவென்று எரியும் நெருப்புக்கும் இடையில் பொது ஜனங்கள் ஒன்றை தீர்மானித்துக்கொள்ள வேண்டுமாம். (இதன் இரண்டினில் ஏதேனும் ஒன்றிற்கு இரையாகப்போகும் விட்டில் பூச்சிகளால் - சுயேச்சை - கவரப்பட நமக்கு பூரண சுதந்திரம் உண்டு !!) ஆறுதல் என்னவென்றால் இது ஒன்றும் வாழ்கை மொத்தத்துக்கும்-ஆன முடிவு எதுவும் இல்லை ... ஐந்தே வருடங்கள் தான் - அதன் பின் மீண்டும் நம் எல்லார்க்கும் ஒரு வாய்ப்பு - நம்மை நாமே ஏமாற்றிக்கொள்ள , விளையாடி மகிழ ......!!

இந்த பதிவு மற்றுமொரு ஆவேசக் கூப்பாடாய் பத்தோடு பதினொன்றாய் இணையத்தில் மக்கி மண்ணாய் போய்விட எமக்கு இசைவு இல்லை. மேலும் - மேலுக்கு அசுவாரஸ்யமாய் தோன்றும் இந்த தேர்தல் விளையாட்டில் இரசிக்க வைக்கும் சில அம்சங்களை தொகுத்து - யாம் பெற்ற இன்பத்தை பகிர்ந்தளிக்கும் என் சிறு முயற்சி இந்த பதிவு ;

படித்து மகிழ்க..... !! வாழ்க - பற்பல வருங்கால தேர்தல் உய்ய .....!!

(1) ஜப்பான் சுனாமிக்கும் அற்புதமான கிரிக்கெட் மேட்ச் ஒன்றுக்கும் இடையினில் அழகாய் அரும்ப இருந்த மூன்றாவது அணி மொட்டில் கருகிப்போனது என் கண்-திருஷ்டியினால் இருக்க வாய்ப்பு இருக்கிறது ; இதை சொல்ல எனக்கு அவ்வளவாக வெட்கம் தோன்றவில்லை - கருப்பு MGR என்று அழைக்கப்படும் கேப்டன் மீது (ஒரு தலை) காதல் கொண்ட நான் விஜய் காந்த் முதல்வராகவும் வைகோ-வை துணை முதல்வராகவும் ஓமத்தூர் வளாகத்தில் வைத்து அழகு பார்த்த என் கனவு அடுத்த நாளே சுக்குநூறானது தமிழகம் செய்த சாபமே அன்றி வேறன்ன ? குறைந்த பட்சம் ஐந்து ஆண்டு தீர்க்க ஆயுள் கொண்ட முதல்வராவது கிடைத்திருப்பார் ....

என்ன செய்வது விதி வலியது.....!!

(2 ) இப்பொழுதும் - இவ்வளவு நடந்த பிறகும், தலைவர்களது தேர்தல் பிரச்சாரங்களையும் அதில் இழைந்தோடும் நகைச்சுவையும் தவற விடுபவர்கள் வாழ்கை-யின் சாரத்தையே இழப்பவர்கள் என்பது என் துணிபு !! தெள்ளந்தெளிவாக இரு பக்க பிரச்சார வியுகங்கள் முற்றும் தெரிந்த பின்னும் - நாம் பேசிக்கொண்டு இருக்கும் இந்த தருணம் "அவர்" என்ன பேசுவார் என்று தெளிவாக புரிந்தும், மிகவும் ஈடுபாடாக நம் தரப்பை பேசுவது கர்ம யோகத்தின் வெளிப்பாடாகத்தான் கொள்ளமுடியும். என் கையில் மட்டும் ஐந்து கோடி ரூபாய் இருந்தால் வடிவேலு-வை எம் குலப்பெருமையை நம் வீட்டு கூடத்தில் நிற்க வைத்து பேசச்சொல்லி அழகு பார்ப்பேன்; அவ்வளவு வசதி இல்லாததால் கலைஞர் டிவி-யில் பார்த்து இரசித்தேன் - கேப்டன் டிவி யில் என் காதலர் கம்பீரப்பேச்சின் இடையிடையே. அடுத்த வேளை பசி தீர்த்த வள்ளல் முன்னால் வாய் மலர்ந்து முகம் சிரிக்கும் என் அன்பு சகோதர சகோதரிகள் - கூட்டம் கூட்டமாக; பச்சிளம் குழந்தைகளாய் என்ன சொன்னாலும் கை கொட்டிக்கொண்டு - வெயிலையும் பழசு எல்லாவற்றையும் மறந்த நிலையில்.....போகட்டும் - இந்த பிரியாணி சுகமாவது அவர்கள் கிடைக்கப் பெறட்டும் !

நடிகர்கள் பிரசாரத்தில் ஒரு விஷயம் கவனித்து அதிசயித்தேன் !! நடிகர்கள் நகைச்சுவையாக பேசி கலகலப்பாக கூட்டத்தினை ஒருங்கிணைக்கும் போது அவர் அருகே, மிகவும் பரபரப்பாக வேட்பாளரானவர் எட்டு திசையும் திரும்பி, நடிகர் குவித்த கவனத்தை வெண்ணை போல் திரட்டி தன் கை கூப்பலால் வோட்டாய் மாறிவிட்டதாய் கற்பனை செய்து கொண்டு மிக திருப்தியான அந்த முகங்கள்.....எப்பேர்பட்ட தொழில் நுட்பம், மதி நுட்பம்.....ஹ்ம்ம்...!!

(3 ) முற்றி வயது தளர்ந்த அந்த முதியவர் - அவருக்குத்தான் எவ்வளவு குடும்பப்பொறுப்பு; (தம்)மக்கள் மேல் ஒட்டுதல் !! அடுத்த ஜென்மத்தில் இதே குடும்பத்தில் தான் பிறப்பார் என்பது திண்ணம் - மஞ்சளுக்கு ஓடியப்பின் வரப்பில் வீணே ஓடும் நீரை வீணாக்காமல் அருந்தும் வாய்ப்பை தவற விடுவது அவ்வளவு சமயோசிதம் அல்லவே ?? அவரை நோக்கி பிரமித்துப்போய் எதிர் திசை பார்த்தால் தனி மரமாய் இருந்துக்கொண்டு வேறொரு குடும்பத்திற்காக ஒரு வள்ளல் பெருந்தகை ....!! வாழ்கை நெறி உணர்ந்து கொள்ள தமிழர் எவரும் மாநிலம் தாண்டி உதாரணம் எதுவும் தேடவே வேண்டாம்.

(4 ) துபாயின் எண்ணெய் கிணறுகள் போன்று வற்றாத பண ஊற்றுக்கள் பறிமுதல் செய்யப்படும் திகீர் செய்திகளினூடே எனக்கு ஒரு பெரு வியப்பு. கொடுக்கப்பட்ட பணம் கண்டிப்பாக பட்டுவாடா செய்யப்படும் என்ற நம்பிக்கையும், கொடுத்த பணம் விசுவாசமாக உருமாறி, ஓட்டாக பரிணாம வளர்ச்சி பெரும் என்ற அந்த positive எண்ணச் சங்கிலி - என்னை சிந்திக்க வைக்கிறது. அவ்வளவு தான் விஷயம் - இந்த மனப்பூர்வமான நம்பிக்கையை வாழ்வின் எல்லா பக்கத்திலும் வளர மலர செய்ய வேண்டியது தான் நம் நாட்டு வெற்றியின் சூட்சமம்.

(5 ) தலைவர் 160 பேர்களை தேர்ந்தெடுக்க 2000 நேர்காணல் செய்த்தார் என்ற பெருமித செய்திகள். வேட்பாளராக விண்ணப்பிக்கும் பேர்வழியின் வரலாறு, செய்த தியாகங்கள், படிப்பு தகுதிகள், திட்டங்கள் ஆகியவை நேர் காணலில் அலசப்படுமாம்....!! தொலைக்கட்சியில் வந்த ஒரு சிறு பேட்டி பார்த்து வாய் விட்டு சிரித்தேன் !! சாத்தப்பட்ட கதவுக்கு பின்னால் "எவ்வளவுப்பா செய்வே ?" என்ற ஒரு நேரடி கேள்விக்கு இத்தனை அர்த்தங்களா ? வள்ளுவரே தோற்ற கதை என்றால் இது தான்....!!

(6 ) இவ்வளவு விசித்திரங்களுக்கு இடையில் எனக்கு வருங்காலம் பற்றி நம்பிக்கை ஊட்டும் ஒரு விஷயம் சுயேச்சைகள் தான்....!! seat கிடைக்காத காரணத்தினாலோ - யாரையோ தோற்கடிக்க நினைத்து ஒரு திடீர் ஆவேசத்தினாலோ - சுற்றி இருப்பவர் தூண்டி விடப்பட்டு ஒரு அசட்டு நம்பிக்கையினாலோ - களத்தில் இறங்கும் அவர்கள் எண்ணிக்கை எனக்கு பெருமிதம் தருகிறது. நேற்று எங்கள் வீடு அருகே நான் scooty - யில் வந்த போது எனக்கு முன்னால் ஒரு சுயேச்சை நிராதரவாக, van டிரைவர் மட்டும் துணையாக கொண்டு வற்றாத நம்பிக்கையோடு என் எதிரே வந்து கொண்டு இருந்தார்....!! இந்த வெய்யிலில் தனிமை கண்டு வெதும்பி போகாமல் யாருமே அவரை கவனிக்கா விட்டாலும் எட்டு திசையும் திரும்பி கை கூப்பி பவனி வந்த அவர் மலர்ச்சி என்னை நெகிழச் செய்தது. வண்டியை நிறுத்தி இரு கரம் கூப்பி அவரை வணங்கினேன் - மிகுந்த மகிழ்ச்சியோடு அவர் அடுத்த தெருவுக்கு ஊக்கத்தோடு சென்றார்....!! ஏதோ என்னால் முடிந்தது.... அவருடைய பெயரும் சின்னமும் இப்போது மறந்து போய் விட்டது.....மறக்காதது அவர் மலர்ந்த முகந்தான்.....!!

Back Again.....!!

Dear All

Its my first posting of 2011 after a long gap - long enough to touch the magic number of 100 days after my earlier posting which I made on 31st Dec - precisely....!! In fact I had resolved not to make any posting until today (yeah !! New Year Vow) as I really yearned for a break and to feel how I felt....!!

During the past three months, I spent a substantial amount of time browsing blogs of others, got into regular visiting of few blogs of famous Tamil Writers..... and read quite a lot in Tamil. It is a fantastic feeling to see how much of reading material are available and how little our (rather my) reading exposure is;

(Next to reading, of course there were thrilling moments of Cricket which lured away substantial time during March)

During this phase, I also realized how much junk material is available in the net and how easily our lives can be wasted if we are bit casual / direction-less about what we read.....!! There were compulsive moments when I wanted to pen some thing about the wonderful things that I read - but I decided quite consciously not to write any thing ...until...until I reach the magic number of 100 days (He he !!)

I was also amused that I had no "nature's call" about any new poem during this entire 3 months - perhaps the longest ever break after close to 4 years !! With me relaxing myself back to writing now, lemme see if I stumble upon some thing at least from now on.....

I also had utilized this time period to go through literally every posting that I made so far - and you know how much it hurts to see the spelling / grammar mistakes that I had committed and not bothered to edit / correct ??!!

I was particularly amused how I had managed to post so many words without being particular about any thing - in quite contrast to few of the blogs that I read during this phase which had so much knowledge to share with outside world;

I am unsure if any one profits out of this blog and my musings ; But I am pretty sure that I am at huge loss if I hold myself without writing any longer....AND here I go.......hoping to go on for ever.....!!
